An Electrician is designated as a Construction Electrician under the Inter-Provincial Red Seal program. Becoming a Level 1 Electrical Apprentice is one of the first steps required to become an Electrician in British Columbia.
Sprott Shaw’s Construction Electrician programs are SkilledTradesBC approved, and provide opportunities for Electrical Apprentices to gain employment skills and provides employers with a highly trained and experienced workforce.
Level 1 of the Electrician Common Core - Level 1 certificate program is a theoretical and hands-on training component of the four-year program. Students who successfully complete the certificate requirements will receive their Level 1 Certificate..
Level 1 students will learn basic DC theory, safety procedures, and rudimentary motor control. They will also be introduced to electronics and to the Canadian Electrical Code
Note: Prior to starting the program and writing the ITA-BC Certification Exam, students must be a sponsored apprentice registered with ITA.
