PSW Training Grant in Ontario

March 24, 2022 - A recent announcement by the Ontario government provides the opportunity for financial assistance for Ontarians who wish to pursue a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). To address Ontario’s Personal Support Worker Shortage, the Ontario government is providing grants to up to 4,000 new PSW students who enrol at a participating private career college between June 1 and September 30, 2022. Eligible students can receive up to $13,690 to cover their tuition, books, other mandatory fees, and a wage stipend for their clinical placement.

There is a critical shortage of personal support workers in Ontario so there are immediate and ongoing job opportunities for PSWs throughout the province.

“We are excited by this Ontario Government initiative to support increasing capacity within Ontario’s healthcare system,” said Stuart Bentley, President of triOS College. “triOS College has actively trained and graduated thousands of PSW students into new careers and works closely with Long-Term Care and Home Care partners to ensure students receive practical hands-on training and experience to become job-ready graduates.”

The PSW program at triOS College helps you hone your clinical and administrative skills and includes a 12-week placement, where you can gain hands-on experience. With triOS College’s remote learning modality, you can safely and conveniently attend online classes, then complete your placement in a participating long-term care facility in Ontario.
