Early Childhood Educators of BC Establish Bursary

The Ministry of Children and Family Development has provided $513,000 to the Early Childhood Educators of BC (ECEBC) to help increase the number of early childhood educators.  The funding is to establish a bursary for students who are enrolled or will be enrolling in early childhood education (ECE) programs and will be implemented for the fall of 2014. 

Priority will be given to:

  • Aboriginal Students
  • Students who will be attending early childhood education programs with an Aboriginal focus
  • Students working towards an infant/toddler educator designation

Applicants may apply for up to $300 per course, to a maximum of $1500 per semester and must be enrolled in an ECE program at an approved public or private educational institution, some of which are listed below.

Applications for the Fall 2014 semester will be available on the Early Childhood Educators of BC website on Friday, July 18th, 2014 with the deadline for application submission on Friday, November 7, 2014
