Web Design

You are here

B asic websites can be created using free web design software, but many businesses require a web site built by a professional web designer who understands the code behind the site, how it is structured for both usability and search engine optimization, the aesthetics such as color and font style, and someone who stays up on new technologies and design trends.

Web Design Program Focus

The Web Design LCA.CO courses are comprised of two components:

  • A technical component, where you will acquire the skills needed in web programming, including training in the use of various software, in programming, in database and data management, and in server related technologies
  • A creative component that allows you to develop your artistic ability through principles of design, colour and image processing.

You will have the opportunity to learn the fundamental design principles, about colour theory, interface design, typography, basic programming, computer illustration, script language, audio and video techniques as well as hands-on training in industry software.

Throughout the web design program, you will create your own portfolio and learn how to promote your work and understand how to legally protect your work from unauthorized use and copyrights.

The Web Design Program trains you to be a professional in such positions as:

  • Web page designer
  • Web designer
  • Website architect
  • Web developer
  • Website developer
  • Web programmer
  • Webmaster
