TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community.
The Pharmacy Assistant program teaches students the skills they will need to fill orders under a pharmacist's supervision; identify prescriptions, enter client information, and process paperwork for orders.
Students learn drug and medical terminology, as well as basic pharmacology. They learn about drug dosage calculations, compounding, commonly used pharmacy computer systems, and pharmacy practices and procedures. Students also learn about the legislation, ethics, and workplace safety regulations applicable to pharmacies.
Students also receive First Aid and CPR training and certification.
