The Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy program at Adler University trains counselors to develop cross-cultural competencies and the skills needed to understand family structures, life-cycle dynamics, contextual influences, and healthy family functioning. Through intensive practicum training opportunities, our students benefit from gaining first-hand experience prior to graduation.

Our graduates are prepared for careers as successful couple and family counselors in public and private sectors. They go on to work in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, private practice, community mental health centers, substance abuse treatment programs, and more.

  • Our students are prepared for careers in marriage and family therapy, one of the United States’ fastest-growing careers with strong job growth expected over the next decade.
  • Our Couple and Family Therapy program meets educational requirements for licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Our faculty are experts in the field of marriage and family, and bring their clinical experiences into the classroom.
