How to become a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario

Becoming a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) requires training from either a Community College or Private Career College.  Programs at a Community College are often three years (six semesters), while program length at a Private Career College varies by school, and are as short as 18 months or as long as three years depending on course configuration. 

Massage Therapy program graduates who successfully complete the registration examination by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and register with the CMTO, will be entitled to use the professional designation Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).
