Makeup Artistry Technician

Makeup Artistry offers career opportunities where you can express your creativity. Eastern College offers Atlantic Canada’s most comprehensive makeup artistry program where you will receive training in creating fashion looks using special effects makeup.

Makeup Artistry Technician Program Information

The Makeup Artistry Technician Diploma program is much more than a make-up course. You will receive:

• Expert instruction in the basics of cosmetic hygiene and infection control
• Instruction in creating every day and evening looks, make-up for high fashion, for television, photography, and film, and an introduction to special effects and theatrical makeup
• You will also receive certifications in Lash technology including classic lash extensions, lash lift, and lash tint.

Upon enrollment in the Make-up Artistry Technician program, you will be registered with the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia

Students enrolled in the program receive:

• A 4-Week field placement
• Preparation to write the licensing exam of the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia 
• Foundation to work in the Maritime motion picture industry

Makeup Artistry is legislated as a licensed trade within Nova Scotia. You will receive a diploma in Makeup Artistry and Design and be prepared to write the licensing exam of the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia.  Upon passing this exam, you will receive your license in Makeup Artistry. Only license holders are able to perform make-up applications professionally.

The Makeup Artistry and Design program at Eastern College offers a thorough foundation in makeup artistry which is an important consideration if you want to work in the Maritime motion picture industry. It is also a prerequisite towards obtaining membership within the motion picture work force.
