Highly trained Dental Technicians are in high demand thus making it a lucrative and well-regarded professional career. Dental Technology is both a science and an art, as a technician must help create tooth replacements that are attractive as well as functional. Dental Technicians work independently after close consultation with the dentist and by following detailed instructions, create dental implants and attachments using impressions of the patient’s teeth.
The Dental Technician diploma program at CDI College will prepare you to work in a dental lab environment and offers training and practice using Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD and CAM).
You will learn to work with a variety of materials such as plastics, waxes, alloys, stainless steel, porcelains and composites or polymer glass combinations and acquires skills using sophisticated instruments and equipment.
There are two practicum placements that will enable you to observe general laboratory practices and acquire work experience building dental appliances.
The Dental Technician program is approved by the College of Dental Technicians of British Columbia.
