Eastern College provides fast-track job readiness focusing on technical skills in program areas such as Business, Technology, Healthcare, Law, Art & Design and Trades.
An Electrician is designated as a Construction Electrician under the Inter-Provincial Red Seal program.
Sprott Shaw’s Construction Electrician programs are ITA-BC (Industry Training Authority) approved, that provides opportunities for Electrical Apprentices to gain employment skills, and provides employers with a highly trained and experienced workforce.
Level 1 of the Construction Electrician certificate program is a theoretical and hands-on training component of the four-year program. Students who successfully complete the certificate requirements will receive certification as a second year apprentice.
Level 1 students will learn basic DC theory, safety procedures, and rudimentary motor control. They will also be introduced to electronics and to the Canadian Electrical Code.
Sprott Shaw’s Math for Trades program is available to assist students in building a foundation of math skills required for various trade applications.
Note: Prior to starting the program and writing the ITA-BC Certification Exam, students must be a sponsored apprentice registered with ITA.
