The Classical and Computer Animation and Production diploma program is a 4 year program, with curriculum based on Warner Bros. and Disney guidelines. All diploma programs at Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art & Design begin with Visual Arts Literacy with gives young artists a strong foundation in traditional representational skills.
The curriculum includes in-depth drawing classes, cartooning, acting for animation, character design, background painting/design, and a sequence of visual language, storytelling and storyboarding courses in addition to both classical and digital animation courses. In your fourth year, you will be involved in advanced courses in 3D Animation and participate in a simulated production experience that is directed by an industry professional.
Students will develop their portfolios that will include life and animal drawings, paintings, cartooning and character design and will also be required to prepare two presentation boards for the industry reception which is attended by representatives from animation and gaming companies. You will also assemble a demo reel that includes the designing of the packaging for the real.
