On March 10, 2017, Yorkville University will celebrate the opening of its first physical campus, located in downtown Vancouver and will be joined by The Honourable Andrew Wilkinson, the Minister of Advanced Education.
“There will be nearly one million job openings in B.C. to 2025 and the gateway to those opportunities is post-secondary education,” said B.C. Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson. “Private institutions give students flexible training options as they work to complete the education they will need to be part of our diverse, strong and growing economy.”
Dr. Rick Davey, President of Yorkville University says “Traditional universities are faculty-focused research institutions. We are fundamentally a student-focused teaching institution, and that will always be the difference.”
The campus, located at 1090 West Georgia Street, will be a hub for area students studying in Yorkville University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with specializations in Accounting, Energy Management, Project Management and Supply Chain Management — programs Yorkville designed to directly support the B.C. economy.
The campus opening celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. and will feature campus tours, refreshments and “edutainment”, including an address from Minister Wilkinson.
