Programs at the Arizona Automotive Institute

Automotive Service Technology



In the hands-on Automotive Service program, you will get a working knowledge of a vehicle’s system and learn how to assess and repair automobiles. The curriculum covers major systems of a vehicle such as engine performance; suspension and steering; brakes and tires; and electrical and air conditioning systems.

Diesel Heavy Truck



The Diesel – Heavy Truck Mechanic program provides hands-on training repairing and maintaining heavy-duty machinery such as trucks, busses, bulldozers, and cranes. In the Diesel Mechanic classes, you will learn to inspect, diagnose, service and repair diesel-powered medium and heavy-duty vehicles such as semis and buses. Major systems such as engine performance, transmissions, steering and suspension, brakes and tires, electrical and air conditioning are covered.

HVAC and Basic Refrigeration



Throughout the HVAC and Refrigeration curriculum, your will learn the skills to perform maintenance and repairs to heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Classroom instruction and hands-on training includes electrical wiring, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide testing.




In this welding program, you will learn core welding techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Flux Core Arc Welding. You’ll learn gas and electric welding and manual and automatic cutting techniques.
