he Pharmacy Technician program at CTS Canadian Career College provides both the theoretical and practical skills required to advance towards becoming a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
The curriculum at CTS Canadian Career College was developed under counsel of the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP).
The Pharmacy Technician Program has been awarded the status of Full Accreditation by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs for a five-year term 2019-2023 at the North Bay Campus.
All campuses have simulated lab environments with workstations that allow you to gain the required skills and competencies in a safe manner. The Pharmacy Technician program gives you extensive hands-on training in these simulated lab environments. Courses include but are not limited to:
Students who graduate from CTS Canadian Career College’s Pharmacy Technician program are eligible to complete the steps required to become a regulated pharmacy technician in Canada. These steps include completing Structured Practical Training (SPTs), the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) Jurisprudence exam (or other provincial Jurisprudence exams), the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) qualifying exams, and obtaining personal professional liability insurance. Regulation is mandatory to work as a pharmacy technician in any pharmacy in Ontario and all other Canadian provinces (except Quebec).
The Pharmacy Technician program has an internship component that consists of practical training in a community environment and in a hospital setting.
The Health Information Management (HIM) program at Anderson College in London, Ontario, offers classes starting throughout the year.
