The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program prepares you to work in a variety of health care settings or in the patient’s home.  If you are looking for a career where you can provide care and companionship for seniors or persons with disabilities, training as a PSW in Ontario could be right for you.

Personal Support Worker Diploma Focus

At Oxford College you will learn how to:

  • Provide care and companionship for people during periods of incapacitation or convalescence
  • Administer bedside and personal care to patients with bathing, personal hygiene, ambulation, and dressing and undressing
  • Plan and prepare meals and special diets, or assist in feeding clients
  • Perform health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in administering medications and collecting specimens under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse
