What is Hybrid learning?

Hybrid learning combines the convenience of remote learning with the face-to-face practical application of techniques delivered in class. Many of the programs that employ a hybrid learning approach are within our Healthcare faculty, where a practical application of techniques is a requirement.

Students can expect to learn much of the theory and understanding of concepts through remote classes delivered by their instructors via live video over the Internet. The remote classes are held at set times and are instructor-led. Once the learning shifts to the practical application and learning of techniques, students can expect to shift to in-class face-to-face learning.

What does hybrid learning look like?

  • instructor-led classes
  • follow the same schedule with classes held at the same time
  • class discussions and debates continue through video
  • same in-class content is reviewed (i.e. presentations, case studies)
  • one-on-one student check-ins with instructors
  • learn new communication skills and technology such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to better prepare you for future work situations
  • it is not online learning — you are guided through the learning with your instructor and classmates
  • in-class learning portion focuses on practical application and hands-on techniques

*Not all programs are available by hybrid learning.
